Computer System and Hardware:

• Personal E-mail address (free at gmail.com, yahoo.com, or msn.com)
• Internet Service Provider (ISP) account (DSL or Cable preferred)
• DSL or Cable Modem (56K Bps or less modem not recommended)
• Intel Pentium 4 or better (Core Duo or Dual Core, for example) or AMD equivalent
• Minimum of 512 MB RAM or greater (1 GB recommended)
• Minimum of 40 GB hard drive or larger (20 GB free recommended)
• 1024x768 or greater monitor and video card
• Sound card with speakers or headphones
• Microphone (Required for Foreign Language courses)
• Inkjet or laser printer (not required, but helpful)
• Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Vista (XP preferred) or Mac OSX (10.4 or later)

Required Software:

• Adobe Flash Player 9.0.124 or later
• Windows Media Player 11 or equivalent
• Free Adobe® Reader (not Acrobat) or equivalent PDF Reader 
• Java
• Adobe® Shockwave Player
• Apple® QuickTime Player (select the one without iTunes)

Internet Browser Options:

• Internet Explorer 7.0 and later, FireFox 3.0 and later, Safari 3.1 and later (Note: if you use a Mac and have problems with Safari, please try FireFox)

Additional Recommended Software:

• Word-processing: Microsoft® Word or equivalent
• Presentation: Microsoft® PowerPoint or equivalent (for selected courses)
• Spreadsheet: Microsoft® Excel or equivalent (for selected courses)
